Finance and Accounting Recruiter in Milwaukee

Call Marc McRoberts: 262-893-1523 | marc@mdmrecruitingllc.com

A finance role has been open on your team longer than you would like, and the cost of that is not abstract. Someone senior is picking up work below their pay grade, the close is dragging, and the numbers your leadership team relies on are landing later than they should. Posting the job brought in volume, not fit, and you do not have time to wade through it.

This is the problem I solve, and it is the only one I work on. I place finance and accounting professionals at small and mid-size companies across metro Milwaukee, and I have done it for 15 years. I am Marc McRoberts, and I run MDM Recruiting. When you reach me about a controller opening in Brookfield or a CFO search in Waukesha, you are working with the person who actually knows this market’s finance talent and will bring you a tight list, not a stack of maybes.

The roles I fill

I place the whole range of finance and accounting roles, from the seat that answers to your board to the ones that keep the books straight day to day:

Whether the gap is a CFO who can steer strategy and financing or a senior accountant who can run a clean month-end on their own, I have placed that role before at a company that looks a lot like yours.

Built for Milwaukee mid-size companies

Milwaukee is a manufacturing town at its core, and a lot of the mid-size companies here either make things or supply and service the ones that do. That is the finance talent I know best. Most of my searches are for companies with 50 to 200 employees, where the controller wears four hats and the next hire has to be right the first time because there is no bench to fall back on.

My deepest experience is in manufacturing and manufacturing services and in financial services, though I place across every industry. If you run a manufacturer in Menomonee Falls that needs a cost accountant who genuinely understands standard costing and inventory, or a financial services firm downtown that needs an FP&A analyst who can build a forecast that holds up, that is squarely my wheelhouse. I know what those roles demand in this market, and I know who can do them.

Fifteen years in one lane

I do not bounce between disciplines, filling a finance role one week and a sales role the next. Finance and accounting is all I recruit for, and 15 years of it has built me a genuine network of controllers, analysts, and finance leaders across southeastern Wisconsin. That is the gap between a recruiter who has to learn your role on your time and one who already knows the three or four people in this market who could truly step into it.

That focus is also what lets me separate a candidate who looks strong on paper from one who will hold up under your close, your systems, and your leadership team. I have run enough of these interviews to know which questions do that. The judgment behind that call is what you are actually hiring me for.

What working with me is actually like

One point of contact, and it is me the whole way: the intake call, the sourcing, the screening, and the references. Nothing gets passed down to a junior recruiter who has never filled a finance role in their life. Before a name reaches your inbox, I have already walked them through your company, your systems, and the real problem you are solving, so the people you meet already understand the seat and want it.

Given the choice, I will always take fit over volume. Sending you three candidates who match beats thirty who do not, every time. That short, trustworthy list is the hard part of this work, and it is the part that gives you your weeks back.

The kind of hire this matters for

A finance hire carries a downside most roles do not. A controller who cannot close, a CFO who cannot forecast, an analyst you cannot hand the model to — those misses show up in your reporting, your board meetings, and the extra hours that land back on you. That is exactly why twenty minutes with someone who fills these seats for a living is worth it before you post and hope.
